So if you’re like the rest of the world, you’ve been lining up to see Tim Burton’s latest movie, the 3D incarnation of Alice in Wonderland.  I’ve always been a little obsessed with Alice (I blame the Disney cartoon), so I was pretty psyched to see that Swarovski has come out with some limited edition pendants based on the movie.  There are 4 of them, all based around the Tea Party scene, and I think they’re super cute.  Here’s my favorite:

These are available online ONLY at http://www.swarovski.com and range from $130 - $160 (CAD).

Classic Style Icon: Alicia Silverstone in Clueless

Eff Mean Girls, Clueless is the best chick flick.  I was in grade 4 when the movie came out, and that year I wrote with nothing but feather top pens.  In the 6th grade, my friend and I decided we would dress up like Cher for a day.  I wore a short, mustard yellow skirt and some chunky, black lace up platforms.  You know the ones.  But to my horror, my “friend” forgot to bring me a pair of knee highs which she promised she had.  The outfit, along with my confidence, were ruined.Anyways

The movie is brilliant and Alicia Silverstone is such a classic 90s beauty.  The perfectly blow dried blonde locks, the rosy cheeks and a French manicure to top it all off.

I believe the Jacket is The Row, but where the hell did Biel get those pants?!  I want them.

Linday Lohan in Balmain

Lindsay Lohan is effing nuts, but she’s still my original girl crush and I love her.  I’m also now in love with these Balmain biker jeans she was seen rocking just a few days ago.

I love the whitish pink wash, and I’ve been in love with skinnies with zippers since I saw MK rocking a pair.  One problem though, they’re effing $3,000 USD and I just started a Louboutin savings account.  Sigh.  If it’s any consolation though, her Free People sandals are only about 100 bucks.

Found! Laurie’s Earrings

Last month I wrote a post about my obsession with the earrings of Watchman’s heroine Laurie/Silk Spectre II. They’re pretty much fierce, and I never use that word, and also a little scary. As I said in my previous post, they look like they hold the secrets to the universe, but also they could murder you.

Since that post, I have been hunting far and wide. I’ve gone into every accessories store and every clothing store that sells accessories. Even Aldo Accessories didn’t have them, and they rip off everything. I spent at least an hour online, maybe even an hour and a half, searching for earrings that resembled what Laurie wore.

I had almost given up, and then yesterday while on a solo shopping trip I stopped into the Kerrisdale branch of Salvation Army where I found not one, but three Laurie style earrings which in my opinion best those of the Watchman heroine. Behold…

Holla! How dope are these? As I mentioned in my first Laurie post, her earrings kind of resembled the Star Trek logo combined with Princess Jasmine’s accessories. Well the silver/gold earrings are the Star Trek logo combined with a deadly weapon, and combined with the other two pairs, I only paid $6.00.
I was really surprised at how many cool earrings there were in the thrift store.  You don’t really see shapes like this at say, Claire’s.  I mean, they may be from the 80s, but they look like superhero/ business woman of the future earrings.  It’s awesome!

So if buying something that has been pierced a stranger’s flesh doesn’t creep you out, I totally suggest checking out your local Salvation Army or Value Village for dope accessories.  I also suggest a lengthy hydrogen peroxide soak before putting any of your finds anywhere close to your own skin.
