The ULTIMATE Summer Sandal
Last year, Georgia posted about her splurge on some Havaiana flip-flops, and now it’s my turn to discuss my favorite Brazilian sandal: Ipanemas.
While I wasn’t really in the market for a $40 flip-flop, I saw the new line of Ipanemas by uber-model Gisele Bundchen and I couldn’t resist. These sandals are made from PVC, and apparently mold to your foot as you wear them (Birkenstock-style). While I was a little hesitant about the pricetag, I justified it by determining that they are eco-friendly, and part of the proceeds go toward water conservation efforts in the Amazon Rainforest.
BUT, the main selling point…these are by far the most comfortable thing I’ve ever put on my foot. I’ve been known to wear Crocs (I know, I know), but these sandals take the cake. That PVC must also have some magic in it, because plastic footwear should not feel like this.
Gisele has quite a few styles, in a number of metallic and summer-friendly colors, and all of them are pretty nice.

Now I know a number of people have been having trouble finding these in Canada. I bought mine at Little Burgundy (and ALDO affiliate) here in Montreal, but there isn’t a location that I know of in Vancouver. There are a few of the styles available on their website, but not all of them. Some StoneRidge locations have a few of the styles, and select Browns Shoes as well.
So, if you’re looking for a new sandal this season (or even if you’re not) I highly suggest you try a pair of these on!

NYFW: Tarte for Abate
New York Fall Fashion Week is in full swing and while many East Coast bloggers are out there enjoying the shows and after parties, I’m enjoying fashion week from the comfort of my couch. Okay, I’m just cruising other people’s blogs and watching Fashion File reruns.
One of the looks I’ve fallen in love with is Tarte for Abaete.
The look was a mix of feminine and masculine. It’s a monochromatic and very dewy look, which is one of my favourites, mainly because it’s low maintenance and really easy to put together.
Here’s how this look was put together:
Face:
-Smooth Operator oil Free Natural Foundation w/SPF 20
Cheeks:
-A touch of Blushing Bride Natural Cheek Stain
Eyes:
-Focus on brows wash out/powdered brows
-The Toolbox Brow Kit (only use wax)
-Recreate Natural Anit-Aging Foundation w/ Wrinkle Rewind Technology using eyeliner brush, brush the lightest shade in an upward motion
-Provocateur Pressed Mineral Powder lighty press into brows with sponge
-Liner: Rest Assured Brightening Wand pink nude on bottom, lower rim
-The Eraser 4-in-1 Natural Concealer all over lids
-Vitamin Infused Lipgloss in Liquid Sunshine on lids. Apply a coat, pat with your fingers, apply a second coat along lash line only. Smudge with eyeliner brush- teardrop, rest assured mixed with Liquid Sunshine
-Curl lashes with Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler
-Rejuvelash on lashes
Lips:
-Slide Tin Lip Balm w/ SPF 15 in Bee Stung
-24/7 Natural Lip Sheer w/ SPF 15 in Champagne Brunch
-Hush Lipstick
-Tweak with The Eraser 4-in-1 Natural Concealer
-A touch of Blushing Bride Natural Cheek Stain on lips
Dewy Look with Caudalie Products:
-Use Caudalie Beauty Elixir all over face
-Use Caudalie Contour Cream Eyes & Lips on cheek bones
The problem here though is that Tarte and Caudalie cosmetics aren’t available in Vancouver as far as I know (remember we don’t have a Sephora) so I’m out of luck and I’m not crazy about buying beauty products online.
Do you mind buying cosmetics without testing them out? Let me know. Also, am I an idiot, or is there a store in Van City that sells Tarte.

Looks I’m Loving
For the brown haired, green eyed set, nothing beats a brown and gold smoky eye.
I’m loving inner eye highlighting these days
And this is just awesome.
