I love the intensity of the eye liner contrasted with the pale, shimmerly highlighter

This look is just awesome, but do you think you could pull off orange lips?

Tip of the Day

West Coasters know, Cowichan sweaters are hot or more precisely, warm.  The current Vancouver uniform consists of these, American Apparel leggings and a Coach hobo swung over your shoulder.  They’re stylish without being frumpy, and unlike their authentic counterparts, the Vancouver based TNA made in China variety fits great, flattering all figures.  But there are a few things you need to know…

tna cowichan zip up sweater.jpg

1. Don’t ever wash wool.  It stinks, like badly.  Have you ever gotten a hug from a wet sheep?  Well it’s pretty much like that.  If you spill on your Cowi, suck it up and take it to a dry cleaners.

2. Don’t put it in the dryer.  Wool shrinks.  Who knew?

3. If you accidentally washed your wool sweater and now it stinks like ass… let the sweater dry flat.  Then give it a few sprits of extra strength Febreze all over.  Next, you’re going to stick it in the dryer for a maximum of 10 minutes, no more.  This should let the Febreze dry into the fabric and take out most of the stink.

For the girl who has everything

She may have all the makeup that Sephora carries, but she probably doesn’t have this: Sephora Monopoly. I know. WTF.

From the publisher:

Sephora has teamed up with MONOPOLY to create a beauty-full edition of the classic game where you - GO TO JAIL for bad hair days, ADVANCE TO GO for winning a shopping spree, and pay for your products with Beauty Bucks. It’s every beauty enthusiast’s favorite pastime!

Buy, sell, and trade all the beauty-full products that make Sephora successful as you vie to own the Sephora empire. Stock your stores with beauty products and hire store directors and specialists, while ensuring that your store has all the essentials like water and electricity. Learn the basics of the beauty business from The Beauty Authority!

Okay so it sounds pretty retarded, but this game is tempting even me, who has never enjoyed a board games in her life (except maybe 13 Dead End Drive. But wouldn’t this game be perfect for a girls night in? Oooh I could call the party Manicures and Monopoly! Done and done. Okay, I want this now.

Sephora Monopoly is avaialble at Sephora stores and online for a limted time only, and for the reasonable price of $23.25

Tis The Season to Buy Lingerie

Another Victoria’s Secret Fashion show has come and gone, which along with the M&Ms “they do exist” commercial, means that the holiday season is truly upon us.  Although if this year’s show was any indication of the winter merriment to come, than things are not look good.

My VS show verdict?  lamesauce.  The sets were less winter wonderland and more spring break nightmare.  I mean I know it’s Miami but still, this is a holiday event, people!  And I don’t know if it was the poor music choices, but a lot of the models emerged with a less than stellar strut.  Chris Brown - With You?  I mean, maybe I’m secretly obsessed with this song, but it doesn’t lend itself well to any signature walks.

Some other thoughts…

This just in - even the world’s most beautiful women have stretch marks!  I mean, not many, but they’re there if you spend a long time looking at high resolution photos checking for flaws.  Check out that thigh.

I’m loving Alessandra Ambrosio these days.  She seems to have a little extra something going on in the tummy and thigh area which is always nice to see in a model.

Who are you mysterious banged girl, and more importantly who did your fabulous makeup?

Heidi, we love you.  You have a killer wink, a cute accent, you’re not afraid of slightly left field sexual humor, and you’re married to Seal, but this year you were lookin’ a little on the frump side.  I think it’s time for fashion’s favourite Bratwurst lover to hang up her wings and take her last walk.  It’s time to pass the lacy, push-up torch onto another girl.

For the little ones

I’m a firm believer that makeup application should begin in high school and never before. I wasn’t wearing makeup until I was 15 and discovered liquid eye liner. Before that I owned one lipstick, a blue balm type thing from Wet ‘n’ Wild that apparently changed colour with your mood. Good times.

Now, young girls have more options when it comes to innocent and fun beauty that doesn’t involve any brushes and pots.

If you live in Canada, and have a daughter, niece or any other little one on the list then you’re in luck. Head to The Bay’s bath and beauty department and look for the so-delicious-you-could-eat-it Open Sundaes display. The company makes beautiful and delicious treats with even more beautiful packaging in the shapes of honey bottles, cupcakes and more.
This Christmas, for my beautiful little cousin Mckaylie I’ll be picking up…

- Lemon Drop lip topping - $8.95
- Pink Sugar body scrub - $14.59
- Cocoa Bombs bite-sized bath bombs - $9.95

Open Sundaes products are available at most Bay locations as well as online. They’re products are adorable and all natural, and the perfect gift for any tweenage girl. Plus, you get the extra joy of supporting a local and independent company.
